Lycia Rodrigues

I’m Lycia, a clinical counsellor passionate about walking alongside women as they navigate moments of change, healing, and self-discovery. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors with more than 15 years of experience in the combined fields of Counselling and Psychology, as a clinician, workshop facilitator and therapeutic group mentor. I have a Psychology degree from the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (Brazil), Masters from the University of Victoria (Canada) with a focus on healthy aging, and extensive Post-Graduate Training in Psychotherapy and Perinatal Mental Health.

Throughout my career, I’ve supported mothers facing exhaustion, immigrants building new beginnings, caregivers who give tirelessly, and women carrying the invisible weight of grief, anxiety, and expectations.

I believe every stage of life brings its own challenges — and that caring for your mental health is an act of courage and self-love. My purpose is to offer a safe, welcoming, and judgment-free space where you can pause, reconnect with yourself, and find new meaning in your story with gentleness and authenticity.

My practice is grounded in empathy, genuine listening, and the belief that every woman’s experience is unique. There is no single path to healing — only your path, built step by step with compassion and purpose.

Let's go together?

I am dedicated to helping you work on your mental well-being in a way that feels manageable

My
Journey

My professional journey began with a deep desire to understand how people experience care, connection, and emotional pain throughout life’s transitions. Over the years, I’ve worked as a clinical counsellor, group facilitator, and mentor, helping women explore their inner worlds and reconnect with their sense of wholeness.

I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals and families through therapy, workshops, and therapeutic groups — creating spaces for reflection, self-compassion, and growth. My work has also extended to the field of Gerontology, focusing on aging with meaning and vitality.

More recently, my practice has evolved to include the emotional experiences of women navigating immigration, loss, motherhood, and identity shifts. I draw from Narrative Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, and Gestalt approaches, always honoring each person’s story as unique and worthy of being heard with care and respect.

For me, therapy is not about fixing what’s broken — it’s about nurturing what’s already within you, waiting to be seen and understood.

Why we Chose the Name Oceanos?

“Oceanos” means “Oceans” in Portuguese. This name alludes to the depth of human experience and the profound, often hidden, aspects of emotional and psychological life explored in therapy. In this context, Oceanos evokes our vast potential for healing and resilience that is inherent in every individual, much like the ocean itself
